Kerry Geck

Kerry Geck is a potter who lives in the Kuranda district. Her passions are gardening, photography, the bush, the rivers the oceans and all things clay.
Kerry digs her own wild clay from her property, processes it and then creates unique ceramic objects. She is obsessed with wild clays and her practice supports sustainability, and a realisation that clay is of the earth and can be dug up by our own hands.
She uses and experiments with bought clays too, however most things she creates will also have a component of wild clay in them. “Clay Play” is her motto and as such, her creations tend to be funky, quirky and playful. What emerges from the clay is always a surprise and she never tires of the wonder of it all!
